I have a passion for building great websites. After many years working on a wide range of IT projects, I have gained a great deal of expertise which is now available to you on a freelance basis. I have also written extensively on the subject, with three books published on creating an effective online presence, and I have a particular interest in Social Media Marketing and the future of online marketing in general. I thrive on responsibility and hard work, and would welcome the opportunity to take on large-scale, long-term projects, either working individually or as part of a team.

Skills

As a web programmer working in both the ‘front’ and ‘back’ end of website development, I have gained an extensive understanding of a range of programming languages and applications.

PHP

With over nine years of programming experience in PHP, I am fully familiar with the language along with the associated frameworks (Codeigniter, CakePHP, Zend Framework), CMS (Joomla!, Wordpress) and shopping carts (Magento, Virtuemart).

MySQL

I have developed a thorough knowledge of the MySQL database which I typically utilise alongside PHP.

HTML + CSS

Using HTML templates with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) I have become proficient in the presentation of web pages for different types of devices.

JavaScript

I am fully conversant in JavaScript, and use jQuery in all my projects.
